Scottish Chefs donation to Andrew Fairlie Scholarship
Scottish Chefs continue to support the development of their industry
Back in November 2019, which seems like a lifetime ago now, the Scottish Chefs - The Federation of Chefs Scotland held a banquet at The Gleneagles Hotel to celebrate their 25th anniversary, with a theme celebrating the life of Andrew Fairlie. Scotland’s star studded Chefs delivered a fabulous 8 course menu for a glittering audience from all over the world. The generous audience raised £3,000 from a raffle, with the proceeds to go towards the inspirational 2020/21 Andrew Fairlie scholarship.
The cheque was presented to Kate Fairlie by Scottish Chefs President Kevin MacGillivray, as this year’s Andrew Fairlie Scholarship is now live for applications.
Speaking on behalf of the Scottish Chefs, Kevin MacGillivray said: "Our dinner was a celebration of all the great produce that Scotland has to offer. The Chefs that produced that memorable meal, all had a great affection for Andrew Fairlie, and in the typical spirit of generosity that the Scottish Chefs have towards development, we were delighted to raise such an amount in recognition of the scholarships that will enable two chefs to benefit from the great educational opportunities that come as an Andrew Fairlie Scholarship winner. We would encourage all aspiring chefs to enter this life changing competition."
