Barry Laurie, French Duncan

Barry Laurie, partner in French Duncan, began his hospitality industry obsession with a holiday job at the Crianlarich Hotel.  Other jobs followed in the Kintail Lodge and Grant Arms , Grantown.  Since then, he has never looked back and has remained actively engaged with the industry throughout his career though, as he points out, regrettably no longer as a waiter!

He is now a tax partner with Scottish chartered accountants and business advisers, French Duncan.  His firm is a prominent adviser to hospitality businesses in Scotland and has been a fervent supporter of HIT Scotland since its formation.  He was privileged to take over the mantle as Treasurer from Primrose McCabe, our first incumbent.  He Chairs the Finance Committee.

He founded the tax committee of HOSPA (formerly BAHA).
