Mental Health and Wellbeing
Training Development Programme for Tourism and Hospitality
CLOSED
Closes Midnight 6th February 2022
It has been a difficult 24 months the industry has ever faced and we feel the most vital resource - the staff - require support more now than ever before. Their mental wellbeing is at an all time low and this range of courses will provide Managers with the tools to support employees back to wellness and ensure they feel supported as the industry bounces back. The range of five courses we are offering provide a variety of levels to suit all within the industry.
This programme is funded by the Scottish Government’s Tourism Recovery Fund through Skills Development Scotland, with the training co-ordinated by Hospitality Health and administered by HIT Scotland.
There are a different amount of places available for each course, see below for all the information on each course, and how to apply.
Eligibility
As this programme is funded by the Scottish Government for the tourism and hospitality industry, you must be living and working in Scotland to be eligible to apply, and you must be working in the tourism or hospitality industry.
You are not eligible if you are:
subject to an employment restriction on your stay in GB
subject to a funding restriction on your stay in GB that would apply to the Tourism Recovery Fund in Scotland
in custody as a prisoner or on remand in custody
on any other employment, education, training or enterprise programme funded by any UK and/or Scottish Government department and/or SDS (subject to any exceptions published by SDS from time to time). Among these would be the Modern Apprenticeship Programme.
Please make sure that your business is happy for you to take part in this training, and willing to give you the time to do so. You need to provide a senior Manager’s contact on the application form as approval.
Application
Given the small number of places available, only ONE applicant can apply per business for each individual programme.
To apply for a course, click on the APPLY button and complete the form. There is certain information required for government funded programmes, about yourself and about your business. You will need to work with your Employer on this, as they need to approve your application, and agree to the T&Cs.
You MUST read the T&Cs document before you apply. This gives the commitment required from both the Participant and the Employer. Both have to confirm acceptance in the application form by “signing” their name.
You are asked what your highest qualification is. If you are not sure what SCQF level that is, please look at the document which shows the levels.
All information will be kept confidential, secure, and deleted if you are not accepted on to the programme.
Allocation of places
If there are too many applicants for any of the courses, then candidates will be chosen to allow a good geographical spread of businesses around Scotland, a good mix of people from different qualifying sectors, and a number of different businesses. Candidates will be emailed by Friday 11th February 2022 to confirm if they have been allocated a place or not.
Requirements
For the online courses you are responsible for providing the equipment necessary to access Zoom (computer / laptop / smartphone with camera and microphone, with internet access), and a quiet place to take part.
For the in-person course you are responsible for getting yourself to the venue at the required times.
An open mind and a willingness to learn is required for all!
