Savoy Educational Trust have been a supporter of HIT Scotland for over 20 years, allowing us to provide opportunites to inspire and motivate students who have chose hospitaity as their career choice. Their funding helps us to send students to the Lausanne Hospitality Business School for a 2 day Quality of Service programme, for students to attend the HIT Talent Conference, and for a mix of student specific learning experiences.

These 2 new scholarships will add to this, with a 2 day practical masterclass for student chefs, and a 2 day customer experience programme explaining how organisations use data to lead their offering.

Open to colleges and Universities around Scotland, please take a look at the criteria given to find a suitable student to nominate. We ask that each college nominates only one individual they would like to take part. Places are limited so not all applicants will get the chance to join this one.

All scholarship content specifics are subject to change.  Any changes will be in keeping with the feel of the original scholarship idea.

Savoy Educational Trust

The Savoy Educational Trust is passionate about fostering the growth and excellence of individuals working in (or aspiring to work in) hospitality, equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in this dynamic sector.

Their mission is to make a tangible difference and impact on the development of the UK hospitality industry via the grants they provide and the initiatives they support.

Who are they?

The Savoy Educational Trust was founded in 1961 by four directors of The Savoy Hotel Ltd as a completely independent, grant-giving charitable Trust. April 1998 marked a turning point in the history of the Trust as the then-trustees sold their shares in The Savoy Hotel, with the proceeds of the sale forming part of the expendable endowment of the Trust, which is invested in such a way as to maximise total return while providing a level of income agreed annually by the Trustees.
